What the Cache?! Why Your Website Isn’t Showing Your Updates

by Lisa Rees | Jul 24, 2025 | Uncategorized

When I first started building websites, I had no idea caching even existed. But it wasn’t long before I found myself scratching my head, wondering why my updates weren’t showing even after hitting save (and refresh) ten times. Now, years later, I can safely say...

Lovely trip down to Mumbles this morning for She-T Lovely trip down to Mumbles this morning for She-Thrives Collective with Helen Corsi-Cadmore and Crystal Jukes .
Met so many new and amazing people (and lot’s I already knew!)
Hannah Worth spoke first about how running her business has improved her confidence (and of course told us all about her delicious Bowla bread!)
Then it was onto my workshop ‘Simple ways to improve your website’
I always think when I deliver talks and workshops, do people want to hear this stuff but I had some great feedback. What I spoke about may be simple and obvious when you know but a few people said they had never heard people talk about websites and address these points before - which is astounding!
So hopefully all their websites will be in ship shape now 😉
Thank you all for having me, see you in Cardiff in September!
“Build it and they will come” does not apply t “Build it and they will come” does not apply to websites. Just because it's there doesn't mean it's going to do anything for your business

I see so many people coming to me for advice as they have a beautiful website but it isn't magically bringing in leads as there is no strategy behind the site.

Visibility, lead magnets, the customer journey, your call to actions and clear messaging matter just as much (if not more)

People are generally on your website as they have a problem that they want solving so they want to know:

Can you help solve their problem (and they want to know this within seconds after landing on your website and without scrolling down)

and

Can they trust you

So it's time to ditch the 'pretty but pointless' myth and let's chat if you want to find out more about my new Website Success Strategy Sessions or check it out under Support on the website - 3 hours spent with me to improve your website and funnels (can also be in person in Abercynon)
I started the day today with Niki Hutchison’s am I started the day today with Niki Hutchison’s amazing Marketing Mondays session doing some ideal client work, then straight onto a catch up with Colita Dainton who I feel like I haven’t spoke to in Forever!

Next it was doing the social media posts and catch up on what everyones been doing this weekend and a whatsapp check in with Bara Taylor who’s been on holidays the last week so bringing her up to speed.

Then it was the Zokit. National Networking hosted by Ray Lang and myself and there we were talking about all things AI.

A quick lunch and install of a new clients website before an onboarding session with her and Im looking forward to her coming to the office the week after next to get her website built with me!

Next was some updates to the Business Cheerleaders website which Im hoping to launch soon and some edits on my website’s website page (still ongoing!) and starting this weeks visibility challenge in the Business Cheerleader FB group - feel free to come on over and join us!

Setting up my new clients website with her new brand so its ready to go when we meet up and then onto giving my old office a bit of a clean before I handed in the keys and popped to Asda.

Off for a walk now before food and then to finish my website pages updates!

Not a bad way to start off the week!

Natwest Accelerator tomorrow for some sales training then Im speaking at She Thrives in Mumbles on Wednesday and helping run the Zokit in person on Thursday!
Working with someone on your website requires a lo Working with someone on your website requires a lot of trust, it’s a massive part of your business that you want to get right.

You want someone who’s in your corner, who understands you and wants your business to work and grow as much as you do.

This was part of an email this morning, wanting that extra confirmation that we are not going to abandon them:

“The last person who built my website was great at tech... but awful at communication.”

They disappeared, didn’t reply to emails, weren’t transparent about costs, and left clients feeling powerless over their own websites.

This is why we do things this way instead:

You stay in control – Your website is always in your name. You have access to everything: your domain, hosting, and backend. We’ll never lock you out or hold your site hostage.

We teach you, if you want to learn - Want to update your site yourself? Great, we’ll show you how. Prefer us to handle it? That’s fine too.

Clear, upfront pricing - No sneaky charges. No upsells for things you don’t need. Just honest advice and the support that actually helps you grow.

Responsive and human - You’ll never feel ignored or ghosted. We pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable, and reliable. Communication is a big part of what we do well and there’s always myself of one of the team there to help.

No jargon, no fluff - Just clear support and strategy to help you build a confident, strategic online presence.

The web industry shouldn’t be a minefield.

We’re here to make it a safe, empowering, and confidence building experience.

Tired of web drama?

Come join the calm, clear, confidence-building corner of the internet, I’d love to chat. 💻❤️
