I never meant to start a business creating website I never meant to start a business creating websites. It was by pure accident.

I looked into so many work from home ideas, dismissed a lot of them, tried some of them, but basically they were getting me no where - how was I going to bring in some income, whilst being in the house with my daughter?

Then I stumbled on a Website course/system that basically taught you how to be seen, with less focus on the actually designing of websites. It sounded interesting and I needed something else to focus on when I was at home all day - something for me, and I was always good at a stuff with computers.

Anyway I ended up creating a party ideas for girls blog, focusing more on content and blogging than how it actually looked. But it drove me crazy that although I was getting loads of views and putting really good content out there my website looked awful! I quickly realised that template builders weren't for me as I had an exact vision in my mind how I wanted to look and I just couldn't get it to do that.

Fast forward a few months and I was getting loads of traffic to the site, just blogging a few times a month on different party ideas I had and sharing parties I had done for my kids. But how it looked still really annoyed me as I didn't want people looking at it! I eventually had my husband to write me a website in code so it could look EXACTLY how I wanted it to look and I loved it :)

But that brought more problems, I couldn't make any changes, I had to upload every page in code and if I asked him to do anything it was always when he had the time, as he worked long hours.

I then got asked to create a website for a local business knowing I had dabbled with websites in the past. I thought why not, they recommended me to someone else, who recommended me to someone else and it just snowballed. People just kept asking me and most of my business still come from recommendations and referrals.

Over the last 10 years I've created so many websites and done thousands of hours of support but my love is in training and strategy stuff - the things that really make a difference and it's just just about having a site that looks pretty - you want it to make you money

We CAN do this!
Are words killing your website sales? Now we know Are words killing your website sales?

Now we know websites need words, not just to tell people how we can help them but to also help with the search engines picking up our websites.

But websites drowning in text, that's not broken up into sections and not visual at all - you are just going to get that little cross in the top of the tab clicked and off they go to find someone else who can help

People don't care about you

They are on your website to find out how you can help them with their problem - in as few words as possible initially. Then you can talk to them about that problem and how you can help - that's all they want

You don't need war and peace!

Have you ever been on a sales page, started scrolling down and reading the content then you are scrolling and scrolling then think let's scroll down to the bottom to see the price and see if it's worth reading all this where they are talking about themselves and all this other stuff you are not really interested in?

Well, just that! It's bye bye!

So now that's enough words from me on a Friday so go have a lovely weekend in the sun :)
New office incoming ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ Well this was rather New office incoming ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ

Well this was rather unexpected!

After moving offices for my business back in April (after the 6 month wi fi and closure drama in the town hall ๐Ÿ™ˆ) to Prospect House in Cwmbach (whoโ€™ve been amazing!) Im on the move again, after an out of the blue phone call a few weeks ago offering me an office down Navigation Park in Abercynon.

I wasnโ€™t even going to see the office as I already had one but curiosity got the better of me ๐Ÿคฃ and then I loved it!

Its closer to my house and much easier for clients to get to for in person websites, training, workshops and strategy sessions, being on the Abercynon slip road of the A470 and 15 mins from Coryton and the M4.

Im not moving until the end of the month (waiting for the interwebs to be installed) but picked up the keys today!

So letโ€™s have a look around ๐Ÿ‘€
AI love it or hate it? That's what I've been talk AI love it or hate it?

That's what I've been talking about in my weekly newsletter today as well as doing a live about it in my Business Cheerleaders Facebook (come over and join in the conversation!)

It was prompted by a guest blog post on my website written by Heather Protheroe (who is my SEO Superstar) about AI referral traffic, more about what it is and how to use it to your advantage in your business to drive more traffic to your website

When I first heard of AI I was skeptical but it looks more and more like it's here to stay. My husband calls it cheating for me it's all about time saving. Yes, it's not a professional but it saves me so much time in my business and even in my life (put in what foods you like and ask it to meal plan for you lol!)
