Your website probably looks quite boring at the moment so to rectify that we need a theme – which is how your website looks.
There are many free and paid WordPress themes out there, it probably runs into millions, and due to the amount of themes out there people often get overwhelmed on which one to choose! Also once you have chosen a theme, most of the free themes don’t allow you to make further customisation and changes so you are usually stuck with a certain layout or change the theme and start again.
Which is why, for the last three years, I have used the premium Divi theme by Elegant Themes (which is also the most popular WordPress theme in the World) and this is the theme we will using going forward in this course.
The video abve expplains a bit more about themes and also how to install them.
So to create the layout for your website we are going to be using the Divi theme, which you can download below. There are lots of tutorials already built into Divi under Divi>Support Centre but here are some more in depth tutorials.
Please note: To be able to update Divi I will need to put my licence key in (this then gives you a lifetime licence to the theme). You need to make sure you add me as a user to do this and let me know when you have installed Divi. Once your licence is active you will also be able to update the Bloom plugin.
